Job Description: Thermal Analysis Engineer - Aerospace Engineering
The Thermal Analysis Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate and optimize the thermal performance of aerospace systems and components. This position requires deep expertise in thermal analysis techniques and experience in the aerospace industry. The individual will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop innovative thermal management solutions for various aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform detailed thermal analysis and simulations using industry-standard software tools to assess the behavior and performance of aerospace systems, components, and sub-systems.
2. Analyze and interpret thermal data to identify potential design flaws, provide recommendations for thermal optimization, and support the development of efficient thermal management strategies.
3. Collaborate with the design and development teams to provide thermal engineering guidance throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring thermal requirements are met and integrated seamlessly into the overall design process.
4. Conduct thermal testing and experimentation to validate and verify analysis results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and design specifications.
5. Generate technical reports and documentation, presenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in thermal analysis techniques, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
7. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and systems engineers, to ensure thermal considerations are incorporated into the overall system design.
8. Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to evaluate and select thermal management materials and components that meet project requirements and industry standards.
9. Provide technical support in resolving thermal-related issues during the manufacturing and testing processes, assisting in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in thermal analysis within the aerospace industry, including thermal modeling, simulation, and testing.
3. Proficiency in using industry-standard thermal analysis software tools such as ANSYS, FloMASTER, or equivalent.
4. Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, and fluid mechanics.
5. Familiarity with aerospace materials and their thermal properties.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex thermal data and make informed recommendations.
7. Solid understanding of engineering design principles and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
